Fredrik Carlberg Managing Creative Director

With an aptitude for visual arrangements, patterns, rhythms, a heart for design and refined typography, Fredrik brings a wealth of talent and guidance to online, print and branding projects. Fredrik has instructed at both Sheridan and York University and has been called on several occasions to judge international design competitions. “I take great pride in building strong and effective communications, either as a brand advisor to our existing clients or as a fresh set of eyes for new potential clients.” Regardless of the project Fredrik is cautious to always work within the strategic framework of the project and its deliverables. A bit of an adrenalin junkie, Fredrik enjoys road cycling, hockey, and skiing. Fredrik is fluent in Spanish and can get by with Swedish with the help of some herring and Aquavit.

Ashley KirkAssociate Art Director

Ashley has been part of the Boomerang family for a better part of 10 years.  He’s consistently delivering genuine ideas and solutions to all the design projects he leads, with careful attention to typography and brand personality. Ashley now looks at his daughter Amelia for that creative inspiration, and has since looked at things in new ways. You’ll be thrilled having Ashley leading your project and ensuring every detail is well taken care of.

Jason BrownAssociate Art Director

Jason’s formula for laid-back happiness is: family, an island in Georgian Bay, long bicycle rides and challenging design work. Trained in Graphic Design at Sheridan College, Jason has been a practicing print and web designer for 16 years with vast experience in print design, branding, web design & development and interactive media. When not working or playing with his kids, Jason lends his expertise and time to Field and Stream Rescue Team  (www.streamrescue.com), a non-profit environmental organization working to improve the quality of water entering the Great Lakes through community education and participation.

Colin FosterTechnology Director

Colin is a software designer and developer focused primarily on Macintosh and cross-platform web technologies. To each project, he brings his years of experience working with both government and private sector organizations, ranging from startups to large enterprises. First and foremost Colin is concerned with the business implications of technology, and works to ensure that your software and web strategies will be effective in meeting your business goals. Colin has earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science from The University of Western Ontario, and his cookies are worth every bite.

Kelly DouglasDesigner

Kelly_BoomA passionate graphic designer originally from Australia (nice tie-in to Boomerang), she loves travel and design. She spends her days putting her BA in New Media Arts and penchant for cutting-edge design to create fresh and exciting design solutions. When not buried InDesign (ha!), Kelly is here dazzling her peers with confounding Aussie slang and quirky sense of humour.

Sharon PeceSenior Designer

A strategic thinker with a passion for developing design solutions that exceed expectations. With more than 20 years of experience, Sharon enjoys exercising design expertise across all types of communications. She is more than excited to be making her mark as part of this creative team. Fueled by daily doses of espresso and Seinfeld.

Chris InghamArt Director

Chris’s experience and strength is in graphic design, communications & brand identity systems. He’s also the go-to-guy when it comes to website user interface design and has worked on design solutions for some of the top retail, real estate and finance companies in Canada. Chris holds a BA from York University in History and an acreditation from the Ontario College of Art and Design (AOCAD). He has worked in the communication and design field for over 15 years at various studios in Toronto. Not a bad hockey player either.

Taylor DavidDesigner

A visual designer with a passion for branding, typography, and ideas that click. Taylor is constantly seeking inspiration outside of design in writing, podcasts, music, sports and entertainment. Understanding creativity as the ability to draw connections between concepts less apparent, I believe the best ideas are often products of thinking outside the practice. If you want to talk sports he’s in.

Rebecca JacobsDesigner

Rebecca is the free-spirit and wanderer of the team. As a recent grad from the York/Sheridan BDes. program with a brief escape to Australia, she comes well prepared to lend a hand on any project at Boomerang. Often found behind the lens of a camera, as blogger, general creative thinker, and layered in fashion forward style she has found the power of design and effective communications, and with each sip of her many teas, Rebecca travels to her imaginary voyage of well crafted design.

Josh RainhardVideo Content Producer

Josh brings flat designs to life with moving images and sound. Josh is an expert hands-on camera operator, with all the skills to match in the editing room, to produce that perfect story of your product offering. He’s filmed around the globe, on high-mountain tops, planes, trains and automobiles. His brother brews beer, and Josh drinks it– go figure!

Stacey NewmanCopy Writer/Editor/Photographer

Kelly_BoomWith a can-do attitude, Stacey is an omni-channel contributor. An alumna of U of T in English and History, Sheridan College in Creative Writing, and Carleton U. in Mass Communication and Media Studies; writer, editor and photographer, Stacey’s expertise ranges from her passion in communication. As previous Editor-in-Chief at Wingate Press and JONA Marketing her photographs and articles have appeared in print material around the globe, including, Forbes.com, NOW magazine, TIME Magazine. When you need something done, Stacey delivers!

Your perfect chameleon. Part performing artist, part dancer, part bookeeper, part proofreader and purger extraordinaire and organizational guru. Lesley allows our graphic designers focus on fonts, colours and all the yummy stuff that goes into creating the perfect solution for our clients. Lesley juggles, duties throughout the office providing that helping hand where its most needed. And if you haven’t used in 12 months, its gone!
